"Get More Done More Easily — The Inner Game of Working With Other People"

Where You Are Now...

It’s not always easy! Working with some people is just fine, but with others it’s just a headache. Some people seem overbearing and uncooperative. Others seem disengaged. Or too competitive. Or too political. Or complain all the time. Or never seem to deliver quite what you want. And there’s always more coming down on you from above, often as not from several different people and it’s impossible to get everything done and equally impossible to keep everyone happy!

Where You Will Be

I can’t promise to make all the headaches go away! But I can promise that you’ll be much more confident in your ability to manage working relationships more effectively, even the challenging ones. And you’ll have a much better understanding of what’s going on when things get difficult. You’ll know how to better understand a person’s situation, concerns and motivations. You’ll be able to handle difficult conversations more elegantly and productively. You’ll be much more effective in how you delegate, and you’ll be much better able to be on the receiving end of delegated tasks. And, crucially, you’ll be able to hold your ground and keep yourself objective and resourceful when things don’t go the way you’d planned!

Delegation and Communication — Why It Matters

Working with other people is probably the most challenging aspect of the professional business world, and there’s no getting away from it. Every organisation is simply a group of people doing their best to collaborate in pursuit of a common goal – but it doesn’t always feel that way! Personal agendas and personal sensitivities get in the way. Different people have different ideas about what should be done, and how, and when. Things happen at home that affect a person’s working life. And sometimes people just simply don’t get on.

As a business professional you are expected to navigate all that and at the same time get the job done.

The challenge is that the more senior and experienced you get, the more your job becomes about managing other people to do the technical work you were trained for! Letting other people do things that used to be yours can be a personal challenge, too.

Which means it’s important to invest in your people skills (and your self-management skills) just as seriously as you already have your technical skills.

Some people are naturally gifted in their dealings with others. Many are not.

This workshop takes the best learnings from those naturally gifted people and gives you a practical model that you can use in your own working life (and personal life, too). It also gives you an intuitive and powerful way to look at how the people around you are behaving, so you can respond more resourcefully to situations and consciously learn from the excellence you see in the people around you.

"My Teamworking Story"

I was very lucky in my corporate career to work in product development. First, because I was working with some extremely smart and talented people (and some very cool technology!), and second because product development sits right at the heart of any organisation.

Developing and introducing a new product impacts the entire business. Sales, marketing, design, production, systems, customer services, HR, finance, everything. It means working across every organisational boundary you can think of and collaborating with every part of the business to make change happen – sometimes in the face of personal, departmental and even organisational resistance. I’ve worked in cross-functional teams that were a delight to be part of. And the other sort. I’ve led teams of highly motivated and cooperative people. And the other sort.

And I’ve worked with some exceptional individuals along the way who were the most extraordinary ‘people people’.

Since leaving corporate life, core areas of study for me have been NLP and Group Dynamics.

What a revelation! Suddenly the structure of personal and group behaviour was made clear. The powerful models of NLP combine powerful insight into personal behaviour with a highly intuitive and practical toolkit that anyone can use to create more productive and collaborative relationships. And Group Dynamics extends those insights into group environments with highly effective models and tools to help us understand and interact resourcefully in even the most challenging situations.

In this workshop I bring together the most helpful aspects of everything I’ve learned to help you understand your working environment up, down and sideways, and to give you an absolutely practical and proven set of strategies, skills and tools so you can approach any situation with confidence. Even the tough ones. And even if you’re not a ‘people person’.

These are skills I wish I’d known when I was in your shoes, so book your place now and transform how you work with people!

See you there.

THE WORKING THROUGH OTHERS WORKSHOP — WHAT YOU GET

I’ll be drawing on two decades of hands-on experience working with teams, two decades of training and coaching business professionals, and some of the most powerful skills and strategies from the world of NLP and group dynamics.

What you’ll learn in this training will not only make you a more effective communicator, it will also help you to remain resourceful, effective and clear-thinking when you are faced with people who you would previously have felt intimidating or even threatening.

I’ve taught these techniques to hundreds of business professionals, and I know from my own experience that they work.

I also know that most of them are rarely taught and that you won’t find them in any other business training.

Here is an outline of what we’ll be covering:

This isn’t about sleeping through PowerPoint slides! The best way to learn this stuff is to actually experience it for yourself. There will be plenty of activities designed to do just that. Nobody will be put on the spot, so don’t worry about that! We’ll just have a day of purposeful fun and explore some of the foundations of how people think, how they communicate and how to use that knowledge to become a more resourceful, effective and professional communicator.

This is not your average communication skills workshop. This is all about giving you insights that will open your eyes to how people (and you) think, speak and behave. It’s about giving you skills and resources that will transform how you interact with people and that will grow your confidence and self-assurance, even in the most difficult situations.

So don’t wait! Book your place now:

How It Works

Working Through Others is a highly interactive workshop designed to give you the experience of experimenting with different communication styles in different professional scenarios. You’ll see for yourself how effective these strategies can be – and you’ll see how ineffective the strategies are that most people use most of the time!

There will be plenty of discussion and time to reflect on how you can use your new skills in your own life, professional and personal.

And there is the option of follow-on coaching to help you fully integrate what you’ve learned in the real world.
